New mock draft simulation hits big for the Steelers

With so much uncertainty in our world right now, it’s the little things that can make us happy. If you are a football junkie like me, a mock draft simulator like the one over at NFL Mock Draft Database can be a cool way to pass the time and give you a taste of the NFL draft as we wonder if the real draft will even happen.

We did a full seven-round simulation for the Pittsburgh Steelers and feel like we make quite a haul. Here’s how the picks broke down.

Second round-OT Austin Jackson, USC

Third round-RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire, LSU

Fourth round-LB Jordyn Brooks, Texas Tech

Fourth round-WR Van Jefferson, Florida

Sixth round-QB James Morgan, Florida International

Seventh round-CB Lavert Hill, Michigan

In this simulation, the Steelers land four players in four picks who can start and play at a high level as rookies. The addition of Jackson would not only give the Steelers an impressive amount of freedom along the offensive line but is a solid building block for the future.

Helaire would immediately be the most dynamic running back on the roster and would challenge for snaps right away. Same with Brooks. And if we are being honest, it’s almost impossible to imagine Brooks making it to the fourth round in the actual draft.

We’d invite all of you to head over to the simulator and post your results on the forum. Let’s see who is the best quarantined GM for the Steelers.
