New Midlands regional director at Richborough Estates and more property appointments news

Birmingham-based land promoter Richborough Estates has appointed a new Midlands regional director.

Chartered surveyor Nick Jones joins from Ashfield Land where he was director in the Birmingham office and brings more than 20 years of experience of securing and delivering major residential, mixed-use and commercial schemes to the post.

In his new role, he will oversee Richborough Estates' Midlands portfolio of more than 20 live sites which the company said would be generating thousands of new homes over the next five years.

He will also drive business growth in the region by sourcing new land opportunities.

Chief executive Paul Campbell said: "Stretching from Gloucestershire to Cheshire, the Midlands is our busiest and most successful region.

"We're really pleased to have Nick on board to lead the Midlands and bring even further growth.

"We will also benefit from his vast experience in the commercial market as we work on an increasing number of mixed-use projects."

Mr Jones added: "Working alongside Midlands senior land and planning manager Joe Jones, I'll be identifying suitable sites, securing planning consent and bringing them to the open market to find the right development partner.

"I'm looking forward to achieving great results and driving further growth for the region."

Godwin Developments has expanded its Birmingham team with the appointment of development assistant Claudine Tracey.

She joins from Jewellery Quarter-based Blackswan Property and will support the team with its residential and commercial schemes.

Ms Tracey has four years of experience in property development and previously worked on a range of residential schemes.

She said: "I am thrilled to be joining Godwin Developments at a time when the business is growing its portfolio and capabilities across a number of sectors nationally, despite the present challenges in our sector.

"The last few years have helped me expand my hands-on experience in property development considerably and I am looking forward to building on this with Godwin and its clients."

Consultancy Harris Lamb has boosted its property management team in Birmingham with the appointment of a senior management surveyor.

Rachel Knowles joins the business after spending more than a decade with Bruntwood where she was most recently area operations manager.

The firm has also announced three promotions.

Andy Smith, who joined the business as an associate five years ago, has been promoted to director in the lease advisory team, becoming an adviser to its expanding client portfolio.

John Pearce, who has worked on a portfolio of residential, commercial and community projects within the planning department since 2017, has been made an associate.

Sara Garratt completes the promotions, stepping up to senior surveyor having spent seven years negotiating commercial and industrial deals within the agency team.

The Birmingham office of property consultancy Avison Young has made a trio of promotions to principal.

They are Caroline Pooley (property management), Claire McHugh (rates management advisory) and Adrian Griffith (offices) and form part of a 13-strong cohort of promotions to principal across the UK.
