Can New Mexico State finally score?
The New Mexico defense was ripped and roasted by Notre Dame last week with a quick-hitting passing game that led the way to 66 points, but New Mexico State hasn’t shown anything offensively so far to show it can do anything to be a threat.
It also hasn’t played anyone its own size.
The Aggies scored 27 points in all over the first three weeks against Washington State, Alabama and San Diego State – all three teams are unbeaten.
There’s enough in place to hit the New Mexico defense that’s dead last in the nation in pass defense. The offensive side is dead last in the nation in third down conversions.
Both defenses are equally awful, but which one can get something going offensively early on? The Lobos can at least move the ball a little better. They have the strong offensive line and can bomb away just enough to open up the running game – and vice versa.
NMSU always seems to pull off something amazing in this game when nothing is expected, but not this week. The Lobos finally get to show off their offense that should be a whole lot better as the season goes on.
