New Mexican restaurant Madre to launch at Royal Albert Dock

The Royal Albert Dock will welcome a new Mexican restaurant later this year.

From the team behind Liverpool restaurants Belzan and Volip, Madre will open at the Albert Dock in November 2019.

The restaurant open across two floors in the Grade I listed Atlantic Pavilion, seating 100 with a dedicated bar area and courtyard too.

Madre will serve lunch, dinner and offer late night snacks at the weekend, with a range of Mexican dishes such as beef short rib birria and iberico pork al pastor.

The evening menu will also feature sharing dishes designed to be fun and eaten family-style.

On the drinks menu, there will be a range of margaritas, craft bees, and natural wines.

Sam Grainger, co-founder of Madre, said: “When we first set out on this journey we knew we needed a special space, we never thought somewhere as prestigious as the Royal Albert Dock would be possible.

“It’s an unbelievable site with boat loads of character and we hope to deliver a food and drink offering to match.

“We’re so excited to welcome everyone from far and wide to MADRE to drink, eat, party, dance on the tables and more than anything, feel like they’ve been welcomed into their family home”.

Madre is expected to open this November.
