New MD at energy equipment firm

Aberdeenshire-based Hiretech, which specialises in supplying equipment to the energy sector, has appointed a new managing director as it looks to take advantage of growth opportunities.

Keith Mackie joins the firm from Power Jacks and takes up his new role from company founder Andy Buchan who has now become chief executive.

Buchan said: “Hiretech has grown significantly over the last three years as we regenerated ourselves following the recent downturn, and we identified a requirement to further strengthen our management team as we continue to capitalise on the opportunities that the energy markets present to us.”

Hiretech, which hires, sells, services and maintains equipment including pumping machinery and hydraulic power packs, invested over £1.5m in new equipment during 2018, with a similar level of investment expected this year.
