New Marvel report seems to confirm when the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer will drop – and it could be before the end of 2025

  • The first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday could arrive in December
  • A new report suggests it'll run before public screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash
  • Other rumors about the Marvel movie's first teaser are circulating online

Marvel might give us an early 2025 Christmas present, with a new report suggesting it'll release the first teaser for Avengers: Doomsday next month.

In October I covered the news that Doomsday's first trailer would run ahead of public screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash. That's the third entry in James Cameron's multi-billion-dollar-making sci-fi film franchise, which is due out on December 19.

Over a month on from that initial rumor, a new report from Collider has indicated that the next Avengers movie's inaugural teaser will be shown before Avatar 3. That's according to multiple sources that Collider has spoken to, who also admitted that Disney and Marvel could change their minds about releasing a teaser between now and then.

December 19 may not be the first time that a first official look at Avengers 5 is shown to an audience, though. Industry insider Cryptic4KQual, who has a mixed track record when it comes to leaks, took to X/Twitter (see above) to inform their followers that some people might see the trailer during "a particular Sunday event in December."

In my view, said event could be one of two things. The first is Brazil Comic-Con (CCXP), which takes place over the first weekend of next month. Marvel has had a presence at previous editions of CCXP, and even made some big announcements at the convention, so it wouldn't be a shock if the teaser received its world premiere at this year's convention.

However, Cryptic4KQual has claimed the trailer won't be shown at CCXP 2025. If true, the other option available to Disney and Marvel would be to hold a press-only event, show the teaser to a select group of US-based journalists, and hold a short Q&A session afterwards with a view to allowing certain outlets to publish said Q&A at a later date.

But wait… there's more. On the November 3, 2025 edition of The Kristian Harloff Show, the podcast's titular host revealed what he had heard about the trailer.

I won't reveal everything he said for spoiler reasons. However, according to Harloff's source, Disney and Marvel had cut together different versions of the Marvel Phase 6 movie's first teaser, and are undecided about which one to use. Depending on what you've read online or heard about second-hand from your fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fans, then, the version that's been described to you might not be the teaser that's eventually selected and released.

Avengers: Doomsday isn't due to arrive in theaters until December 18, 2026 so, even if Disney/Marvel delay the release of its first trailer there's still plenty of time for the pair to drum up the hype for what will be one of the biggest new movies to drop next year.

In the meantime, read up on what we know so far about Avengers: Doomsday. Once you're done, read the other big story about the MCU flick that arrived this week, in the form of a new Doomsday video that teases more ties between Iron Man and Doctor Doom, and drops another clue about its plot.
