New map shows areas where police are patrolling to clamp down on knife crime

Nottinghamshire Police have released a map which shows the areas they patrolled hundreds of miles across streets in the county.

Teams from the force's knife crime team were out in August covering most of the county from Worksop to Mansfield, parts of Nottingham and West Bridgford.

The force also covered Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Hucknall, Arnold and Clifton in trying to clamp down on offenders.

Nottinghamshire Police has a dedicated Knife Crime Team committed to tackling violent crime, along with a range of other tactics and operations that the force uses to prevent and reduce knife crime.

A tweet from the team on September 5 said: "August 2020 - Where were we? The Knife Crime Team mapped out hundreds of miles patrolling the communities of @nottspolice Nottingham Nottinghamshire in support of Neighbourhood Policing Teams in the pursuit of Knife Crime offenders and those involved in associated criminality."
