Adultery is on the rise in Nottingham with a 6 per cent increase in the last year, a new map has revealed.
The new cheating map reveals 28,719 people in the city are having an affair - up from 27,132 last year.
Creators of the map, put the rise down to the end of Covid restrictions and people being unhappy with their partners during lockdown seeking affairs as the country returns to normal.
Figures for other towns in Nottinghamshire include Mansfield (940 cheats, down from 1006 last year), Newark (511 cheats, up from 471 last year), Hucknall (495 cheats, up from 466 last year), and Arnold (400 cheats, up from 319 last year).
IllicitEncounters.com spokeswoman, Jessica Leoni, said: “We have seen a rise in cheating over the last year in Nottingham and throughout most of Nottinghamshire, particularly since the start of autumn with almost all adults double jabbed.
“We have enjoyed the busiest year in our history with women in particular looking to start afresh and joining in unprecedented numbers.
“The cheating surge will continue as more of us return to the office in the run-up to Christmas. Adulterers often use work as a way to cover up their affair.”
The figures are based on IllicitEncounters’ own data on the numbers of Britons cheating.
