Leaked: Manchester United third kit for new season - how Bristol City had an impact on the impressive design

Manchester United's third kit for the new season has allegedly been leaked.

Footy Headlines have pictures of the Red Devil's 2019/20 kit on their website, showcasing a black Adidas top with orange/red trim.

It is a fairly nice kit and, like their recently unveiled home shirt, also contains a reference to a major moment in the club's past.

Indeed, it is an event that Bristol City were involved in.

Unfortunately for Robins fans, it is not a reference to their famous victory over Red Devils in the Carabao Cup a couple of seasons ago, but instead an inscription that reads "110 Years - Manchester Rose - 1909 2019".

It is a reference to the 1909 FA Cup final, which was between Manchester United and Bristol City.

The Red Devils won the game 1-0 thanks to Sandy Turnbull's 22nd-minute goal - although the rose referenced on the inscription is not a player, but the red rose on the white kit they wore that day.

A reference to the past also features on their home kit, which has the inscriptions 90+1 and 90+3, the minutes that the Red Devils' goals were scored in their famous 2-1 Champions League final win over Bayern Munich in 1999.
