New Manchester United signing Jadon Sancho given Ukraine start in leaked England line-up

A line-up for England's quarter-final tie against Ukraine on Saturday evening is being widely reported with new Manchester United signing Jadon Sancho handed a surprise start.

Gareth Southgate will also resist benching United captain Harry Maguire despite the commanding defender being one yellow card away from missing a potential semi-final if England progress.

Three Lions fans have been surprised at Sancho's limited game time, with the 21-year-old playing just six minutes across the opening four games - with Arsenal's Bukayo Saka preferred in the line-up for games against the Czech Republic and most recently Germany.

However, he is set to be handed his thoroughly deserved chance in Saturday night's clash in Rome as Saka is an injury doubt after struggling with a 'slight knock', according to Southgate.

Sancho was incredibly impressive in with German side Borussia Dortmund last season, notching 16 goals and 20 assists before United announced he would be donning their famous red shirt next season after the two clubs agreed on a £72.9million fee for the former City youngster.

Southgate's midfield pivot of West Ham star Declan Rice and Leeds United talent Kalvin Phillips will both likely retain their place in the side despite both being one yellow card from suspension.

City playmaker Phil Foden is also one booking away from missing a potential semi-final and Southgate will reportedly keep the 21-year-old on the bench for the trip to Italy's capital.

However, Foden's teammates Kyle Walker, John Stones and Raheem Sterling are all set to start for The Three Lions after putting in excellent displays for their country against Joachim Lowe's side.

Here is the predicted starting XI for the quarter-final:

England team vs Ukraine (4-2-3-1): Pickford, Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw; Phillips, Rice; Sancho, Mount, Sterling; Kane.
