New Manchester United signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka given advice by Rafael da Silva

Rafael da Silva says new Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka has the right attributes to be a success at the club - if he takes the opportunity.

Wan-Bissaka joined for an initial £45m deal from Crystal Palace last week, becoming United's second summer signing after Daniel James.

He will battle Diogo Dalot and Ashley Young for a place on the right side of defence, and is already said to have made a good impression in training.

And someone who knows what it takes to be successful at United is former right-back Rafael, who came through the ranks at Old Trafford between 2008 and 2015.

Rafael made 170 senior appearance for United, and has told Wan-Bissaka how to make the most of his time at the club.

The Brazilian, who is now at Lyon, told Stretty News: “I have heard a lot of good things about him. From him – being a young right-back joining Manchester United – I just say give everything.

"He must play with confidence because he is playing with the best club in the world. Do you best but remember you must also enjoy playing for the best club in the world, to play football with love and passion.

"I heard he has passion which is very important.”

Rafael, 29, also backed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to return success to United.

He said: “Yes, I think and I hope so. I love Ole. I think he’s the right guy to make this club Manchester United again and bring us back where we belong.”
