New Man Utd home kit to cost £100 if fans want to purchase authentic replica

Fans of Manchester United have been left fuming by the price of their new home shirt.

United unveiled their latest adidas strip on Thursday morning but it has not all gone down well with those looking to purchase it.

Two different versions of the kit are available on the adidas store website, the first 'authentic' kit for the huge price of £99.95, with a further £10 to be added for any personalisation on the kit.

It costs the same £10 add-on whether it be an existing player or if you want to personalise your own jersey with your own name.

A cheaper version of the kit is available for £64.95 - again with the added cost if you want personalisation.

An authentic jersey is not available in children's sizes, but a replica shirt will cost £49.95.

A mini kit which includes shorts and socks, aimed for five to six year olds, is priced at over £57.95.

The new United home kit has a nod to the Treble winners of 1999.

United completely arguably the greatest turnaround in European history, scoring twice in stoppage time to come from 1-0 down and beat Bayern Munich to win the Champions League.

The crest on the kit from that year is the inspiration for the new-look badge on this year's strip.

As well as that, the minutes of when those famous goals were scored – Teddy Sheringham’s 91st-minute equaliser and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s 93rd-minute winner – are shown on each sleeve of the new adidas jersey for the forthcoming season.

In another homage to one of United’s greatest ever nights, the dates of the three title wins are also displayed along the bottom of the shirt.

The shirt will be accompanied with white shorts and black socks, as United return to tradition following the black shorts and red socks combination they had last season.

The United kit will be debuted for the first time in an anniversary game against Bayern Munich at Old Trafford on May 26.
