New Love Island star Molly-Mae opens up about 'worst' date with pro footballer

New Love Island Molly-Mae Hague is an old-hand on the dating scene and she's had her fair share of bad experiences.

Speaking ahead of joining the villa and the rest of the 2019 cast, the 20-year-old social media influencer revealed she'd been wined and dined by a footballer.

But it wasn't quite the ending she was expecting when he offered to pay for a taxi so she could get to his home safely - but failed to foot the entire bill.

Molly-Mae explained: "One time I got asked to go to this guy’s house and he said he’d pay me the money back for my taxi there.

"He was a footballer and he lived a long way away from me.

"When I left I told him to just transfer me a quarter of the cost, trying to be polite and he fully did!

"Even though he asked me to go and he was a Premier League footballer who could totally afford the whole cost!"

Molly-Mae is no stranger to dating footballers and has already had a taste of fame as the ex-girlfriend of Leicester City footballer James Maddison.

It isn't known if Maddison is the same person Molly-Mae is referring to.

She already boasts an impressive Instagram following of more than 150,000 fans compared with Jazmine's 5,000.

Molly is also friends with a host of young reality stars, including Love Island 2018 star Kendall Rae Knight and Katie Price's boyfriend Kris Boyson.

She described herself as a 'hot-headed' (Instagram)

Viewers will watch tomorrow night as new Islander Molly-Mae sends pulses racing as she enters the villa.

The 20-year-old from Hertfordshire describes herself as being very laid back, chilled out and like an “open book”.

Despite that, she says that her worst trait is being “ hot-headed”, so it looks like she could bring some fiery rows to the table. Her idea of the perfect guy is someone who can - predictably - make her laugh.

Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2.
