New look for Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson as he wears special kit for Barcelona game

Liverpool have designed a special one-off kit for goalkeeper Alisson to wear tonight because of a kit clash with both Barcelona and the match officials in their Champions League semi-final second leg at Anfield.

The Brazilian will sport an 'alloy-coloured' jersey designed by New Balance just for the occasion and unavailable for purchase as a replica for fans.

Alisson wore pink for the first leg at the Camp Nou last Wednesday, when Liverpool , whose outfield players were sporting their grey away kit, lost 3-0, because their regular all-red was deemed too similar to Barca's famous blue and garnet (dark red), based on the colours of Merchant Taylors school in Crosby where the English-born Witty brothers, so instrumental in the Catalan club's early years were educated.

The key to another Champions League miracle - and why Liverpool will stay in Pep Guardiola's head

The former Roma man has also worn green and yellow kits while in goal for Liverpool this season but Barcelona, who also have a pink away strip, are expected to change to their all-yellow away kit tonight.

Yellow is also the regular colour for Champions League referees shirts although they have also worn pale blue and traditional black this season.

Luis Suarez delivers heart-felt Liverpool post as Barcelona star returns to Anfield with Philippe Coutinho

Just what an 'alloy' shirt will look like remains to be seen but on New Balance products in the past it seems to resemble a metallic silver or grey hue.
