A police investigation is underway after a man was mugged at knife point in North Belfast.

Two men approached a man in his 30s who was walking on the New Lodge Road on Monday at around 4am.

The man was threatened with a knife and the pair made off with a wallet and watch.

PSNI Detective Constable Murray said: “The man armed with the knife is described as stocky build and 5”7 in height. He was wearing a navy top, maroon jogging style bottoms and a black beanie hat.

North Belfast teens attacked and delivery man's jaw broken

“The second male is described as being 5ft tall and of slim build. He was wearing a white tracksuit with a tattoo on the right side of his eye of a circle with a cross.

“Enquiries are continuing and we would continue to appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious in the area to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 445 22/4/19.

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
