New Liverpool signing scores on debut after transfer from Bundesliga club

Liverpool’s newest recruit Melkamu Frauendorf scored on his debut as the Reds Under-18s ran out 5-0 winners against Huddersfield Town.

The young Reds were in pre-season friendly action at the Kirkby Academy, as Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s side claimed a convincing win.

A brace from Harvey Blair netted, supported by strikes from Tom Hill and Sean Wilson, as well as Frauendorf, rounded off the scoring.

Highly-rated midfielder Frauendorf was making his first appearance since arriving from German club Hoffenheim earlier in the week.

The 16-year-old put pen to paper on a scholarship agreement at Anfield, with Hoffenheim set to be owed training compensation for their development of the player.

Frauendorf is the third highly-rated teenager to arrive at the academy in recent weeks, after Polish goalkeeper Fabian Mrozek from FC Wroclaw and SMS Lodz midfielder Mateusz Musiałowski both joined the Reds earlier in the summer.
