New Lions players get their jersey numbers, others change it up

With all the comings and goings on the Detroit Lions roster over the weekend, the equipment staff was busy making some changes too. New players and jersey number changes abound after a weekend of transactions.

First, the new Lions picked out their jerseys:

QB David Blough – 10

RB J.D. McKissic – 41

In addition, cornerback Amani Oruwariye changed his number. Both he and FB Nick Bawden wore 46 during the preseason and both made the team. Oruwariye will now don the No. 24 jersey. Rookie safety Will Harris is now 25, from 43.

Ty Johnson also changed his number. He took Teez Tabor’s old No. 31 when the cornerback was cut. The rookie RB was No. 38, which he shared with CB Mike Ford, who kept it. WR Travis Fulgham moved to No. 14.

Finally, backup QB Josh Johnson swapped from the No. 4 he wore since signing with the team in August to the No. 8 jersey vacated by Tom Savage.
