Here is your Leeds United morning digest for Friday, August 14.
New signing drops hint on Bielsa future
It’s been a busy summer for Leeds so far, and their preparations for their return to the Premier League continued on Thursday as they made their sixth signing.
England youth international Cody Drameh made the switch from Fulham official after plenty of speculation linking him with a move to Elland Road.
And, speaking for the first time as a Leeds United player, the full-back dropped a pretty big hint on Marcelo Bielsa’s future.
And given what the teenager had to say, the signs look very promising for fans.

The inside story on Joe Gelhardt
Another of the Whites’ summer arrivals, and there’s plenty to get excited about when it comes to Joe Gelhardt.
The 18-year-old completed his move to Elland Road earlier this week as Leeds snapped up one of England’s best young strikers.
LeedsLive spoke to Gregor Rioch, Wigan’s academy director, to find out more about the teenager, and discover what Leeds are set to get.
“He’s one of the best centre forwards in the country without a doubt,” Rioch said. “With the clubs that have been keeping an eye on him since the age of 12, 13, it’s not only domestic clubs, but international clubs that have been watching over several years.”
Hockaday explains how mental health suffered
Dave Hockaday’s time as Leeds United manager was short-lived, with Massimo Cellino’s first appointment during his ownership of the club lasting just 70 days.
Despite signing a two-year deal with the Whites, Hockaday lasted just six games, during which time he won twice, having taken over from Brian McDermott.
Without a job in football since 2016, Hockaday told Sky Sports how his mental health suffered due to his time at Elland Road, saying: “People look at me now, who know me really well, and they go, ‘You weren’t as nice of a person at Leeds, or Coventry, or wherever, as you are now.
“Physically, I’m in a good place. Mentally, the scars will always be there to a degree.”
