New Leeds United finances show just how much they are punching above their weight

Only four Premier League clubs paid out less to agents in the past 12 months to further underline how Leeds United punch well above their weight.

The Football Association has released the cash figures paid out by all clubs across the period between February 1, 2020 and February 1, 2021.

While the Whites were a Championship club for nearly half of that period, they were a Premier League outfit across the two transfer windows within those dates.

The document shows Andrea Radrizzani signed off on £7,034,943 in fees to intermediaries dealing with United.

Burnley, Crystal Palace, Southampton and West Bromwich Albion were the only clubs to keep a tighter control on their expenditure.

Chelsea splashed out the most with £35.2m in agent fees ahead of Manchester City with £30.1m and Manchester United on £29.8m.

Sheffield United (£7m), Fulham (£9.3m), Newcastle United (£11.3m), Brighton & Hove Albion (£7.4m) and Wolverhampton Wanderers (£12.5m) all paid out more to agents than Leeds, but find themselves below them in the league.

In the previous 12 months, Leeds spent a fraction over £4m on agents while they were dealing with transfers as a Championship outfit.
