Leeds United added three new members to their Board of Directors this week with Peter Lowy, Sandro Mencucci and Massimo Marinelli the new faces arriving at Elland Road.
The trio join Andrea Radrizzani, new vice president Paraag Marathe and Angus Kinnear as the key decision-makers at the club.
Mencucci, who was at ACF Fiorentina for 17 years, has given an interview to Italian radio to discuss his impressions of Marcelo Bielsa.
It's safe to say the new board member is already impressed by the head coach, hailing the Leeds manager as a genius.
“They call him Loco, but I would call him a genius”, Mencucci told Italian radio station Radio Bruno.
“Perhaps because he is very meticulous, and he spends hours studying the tactics.
But to me he is a genius, he has made a lot of players improve enormously here at Leeds.
“With him, however, you cannot go wrong. You have to give everything, in training, and not go too far in anything.
“If you’re not fully fit, you don’t play. But he is really a great coach.”
The arrival of the new board members alongside the increased investment from America have set Leeds up to build on an impressive first season back in the Premier League.
The focus now will be on tying Bielsa to a new contract as Leeds look to ensure their 'genuis' stays around for at least one more season.
