A brand new East Kilbride pizza place celebrated a charity partnership by dishing out free pizza to their first customers through the door.
Caprinos Pizza opened at the Murray Square yesterday and announced Lucy Air Ambulance for Children (Lucy AAC) as their first charity partner.
Caprinos launched the partnership with a generous donation of £1,000 and the charity is planning lots of fun activities for Caprinos customers and staff to get involved with.
Lucy AAC is a national charity that ensures babies and critically ill children can access specialist treatment and care, wherever they are in the UK.
Their air transfers provide life-changing outcomes for children being discharged from long hospital stays, overcoming diseases like cancer and receiving vital diagnosis which enables families to gain extra support.
Zamman Ahmed from Caprinos told Lanarkshire Live : "To see how this charity is making such an impact, what they do and how they change lives - the decision was easy.
"This incredible service is not funded by the NHS. Instead, the small charity team work tirelessly to raise for every transfer. Due to current funding they are only able to fly two out of every four children who need their service.
“Caprinos is working hard to raise funds for Lucy AAC so that they can help more families. We are planning lots of fun opportunities for our customers and staff to get involved in this partnership. "
Caprinos offers Italian American cuisine and are one of the very few pizza brands offering a Halal menu across all of their branches.
A spokesperson for the charity said: "Lucy AAC is excited to be working with this award-winning national pizza chain to raise funds, grow awareness of the unique air ambulance service and help as many families across the UK as possible."
