New Lake District pass includes unlimited train, bus and boat travel

  • A new travel pass has been launched for the Lake District, offering visitors unlimited access to trains, buses, and boats across Cumbria.
  • Introduced by railway operator Northern, the pass aims to simplify public transport for tourists amid uncertainty over international travel.
  • The Cumbria Travel Pass covers services from Northern, TransPennine Express, Avanti trains, Stagecoach buses, and selected Windermere Lake Cruises.
  • Priced at £40 for a day or £99 for three days, the pass can be purchased from ticket machines, station offices, and the Northern website, with railcard and child discounts applicable.
  • The initiative consolidates previous regional passes into a single, more convenient ticket, encouraging car-free exploration of the region's attractions.
