An Olympic star has been lined up to open Aldi’s new Kilmarnock store later this week.
Team GB curler Eve Muirhead will cut the ribbon at the West Netherton Street store on Thursday morning at 8am.
The new store, which stands at 1254 sq. metres of retail space will be run by store manager Elaine McPhail.
Brownings the Bakers will be offering Aldi customers a taste of its award-winning pies on the opening day too.

A number of Aldi’s Scottish suppliers will also be in attendance over the weekend, offering samples for customers to enjoy.
Ms McPhail, said: “We are thrilled to be celebrating 25 years of Aldi in Scotland with the opening of the brand new Kilmarnock store.
“We can’t wait to share our new, improved offering to the local community and we are delighted Eve will be joining us on such a momentous day.”
The first 30 customers through the door will receive a complimentary bag of fresh fruit and vegetables from Aldi’s ‘Super 6’ range.

The new Kilmarnock store will stock over 400 Scottish products from more than 90 local suppliers, with plans to increase this number to over 450 products in the next two years.
Team GB curler, Eve Muirhead, who won bronze at the Winter Olympics in Sochi added: “I’m so excited to be hosting the opening of Aldi’s latest Scottish store.
"Attending will be a fantastic way for me to thank Aldi for its endless support of Team GB and it will be lovely to meet the stores’ first customers and maybe even some local residents who remember when Aldi first came to Kilmarnock 25 years ago.”
Customers will benefit from larger chillers and freezers, dedicated to fresh, Scottish meat products, a ‘food to go’ section at the front of the store and a fixture showcasing Aldi’s award-winning beers, wines and spirits.

In addition to this, there will be a section full of Aldi’s health and beauty products.
Customers can expect to find Aldi’s exclusive Specially Selected range, weekly fresh meat offers and famous Super 6 fruit and vegetables at the new store. Aldi’s legendary Specialbuys will also be available every Thursday and Sunday, which include a wide range of products from electrical items to garden tools.
The new West Netherton Street store will be open from Monday to Saturday between 8am and 10pm and on Sunday between 9am and 8pm.
