New Killing Eve awkwardly shows Villanelle watching Jeremy Kyle despite show axe

BBC's Killing Eve features a snippet of The Jeremy Kyle Show, despite its recent axe.

The programme, which had already aired in America by the time that ITV announced the end of Kyle's talk show, shows lead actress Jodie Comer watching an episode on the sofa.

In the scenes – which feature in the second episode of the second season – Villanelle has bruises all over her face, and reclines in lounge wear to watch an episode entitled: "Don't Blame Me For The Death Of My Dad'.

With the controversial show has now been pulled from screens forever , it looks as if it is currently set to still air in the background of the BBC episode when Killing Eve eventually hits the UK.

However, a BBC spokesperson remained tight lipped on if they'd be removing the moment, telling the Daily Mail : "We wouldn't comment on the content of a programme before it was broadcast."

It comes despite ITV CEO Carolyn McCall announcing on Wednesday that it was "the right time for the show to end".

Channel bosses made the decision after guest Steve Dymond passed away from apparent suicide after failing a lie detector test, which suggested he had been unfaithful to his fiancee.

His death prompted criticism of the show's aftercare, dubious casting methods and 'bear' baiting' of vulnerable guests.

Steve, 62, - who suffered from depression - was reportedly lured by the promise of a free lie detector test that he hoped would prove he hadn't cheated on his partner.

But it backfired when he failed, allegedly prompting host Jeremy to 'rip in to him' and Jane to end things for good.

"He had gone on the show solely to clear his name but he said it had gone wrong because of the lie detector test," his son Carl Woolley, 39, said.

Just over a week later he was found dead in his rented bedroom surrounded by letters written to loved ones.
