New Julia Child exhibit to premiere in Napa

Yountville's Napa Valley Museum will be celebrating the legacy of culinary luminary Julia Child this winter with a new photographic exhibit that features black and white photos taken by Paul Child during the Childs' postwar days in Paris and the French countryside.

The exhibit, "France Is a Feast: The Photographic Journey of Paul and Julia Child," opened on Nov. 11 with a celebration honoring Child's grand-nephew Alex Prud'homme and curator Katie Pratt, who co-authored the book "France is a Feast (Thames & Hudson).

The exhibit's premiere offers an added layer of fun via an audio tour that includes Julia Child's voice _ chortling "Bon Appetit," no doubt _ and interviews with chefs Jacques Pepin, Thomas Keller and Cindy Pawlcyn.

The exhibit, which will run through Feb. 18, is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday at 55 Presidents Circle in Yountville. Admission is $5-$10 for adults, plus $5 for the audio tour. Find out more at napavalleymuseum.org.
