People in Liverpool could apply for jobs that would let them work in some of the city’s most beautiful parks.
New vacancies with Liverpool Streetscene Services Limited would involve maintaining various aspects of Liverpool’s many parks, which include Sefton Park, Stanley Park, St John’s Gardens and Otterspool Promenade.
LSSL is currently looking for Grounds Maintenance Drivers and Operatives to work in the city’s green spaces.
Two years previous experience within horticulture/grounds maintenance is desirable but not essential for the role, which pays £20,903.
A statement on Liverpool Council’s website said: “We are seeking to recruit a number of Grounds Maintenance Driver and Operatives to carry out various grounds maintenance-related duties in our parks and cemeteries.
“The main purpose of these roles will be to assist with the general grounds maintenance of grassed areas, shrub beds, rose beds, seasonal bedding displays, lawns, hedges and hard surface paths.
“The successful candidates should have good communication and interpersonal skills and have experience of dealing with members of the public. You must be conscientious, flexible and proactive with the ability to work as part of a team and follow instruction as required.”
The jobs are fixed term contracts running until October 1, 2021.
In addition to holding a driving licence, applicants should also “have knowledge of grounds maintenance related plant, machinery and equipment” and be comfortable operating that equipment.
