On Wednesday, New Jersey’s Governor, Phil Murphy, hit back at anti-vaxxer protestors after he branded them “ultimate knuckleheads” during his Covid tenant relief speech.

In his speech, he addressed that Covid cases were “coming down a little bit” but gave a gentle reminder that “we are still in the fight” against the disease. The Gov. opened the speech in the footage by urging the audience to get vaccinated, “Please get vaccinated, period. These folks back there have lost their mi–you’ve lost your minds!”

Anti-vaxxers heckled the Democrat during his bill signing visit to Union City to extend eviction prevention and utility assistance. He noticed their signs that read “No forced injections”, “Medical choice is a human right”, among many more, which prompted the Gov. to hit back.

“You are the ultimate knuckleheads”, he said.

“and because of what you are saying and standing for, people are losing their life. People are losing their life, and you have to know that. Look in the mirror. Look in the mirror!”

Murphy’s clap back went down a treat on Twitter, with users praising the Governor for his transparency. One said, “NJ Gov Phil Murphy went off-script at a signing today speaking directly to anti-vaccine protestors: “You people back there are the ultimate knuckleheads. You must be out of your minds. People are losing their lives. People are losing their lives.”

While another shared an image of the protestors' signs.

The two bills aim to help Garden State renters. One bill aids $500 million towards the Emergency Rental Assistance Program and $250 million for utility assistance. Both total a staggering $1.2 billion.
