New Japanese restaurant Seven Lucky Gods opens at Wapping Wharf

The people behind some of Bristol's most popular bars and restaurants have opened a new restaurant in Wapping Wharf.

The latest opening from the team behind Hyde & Co, The Milk Thistle (which has just been named one of the best cocktail bars in the UK) and The Ox restaurants opened Seven Lucky Gods today (May 31).

The Japanese bar and restaurant is inside the newly-built Cargo 2 expansion.

The casual drinking and dining destination has a roof terrace and will be selling ice cold Asahi beer on tap, specially selected wines and cocktails created in homage to the seven Japanese gods of fortune - after which the venue is named.

The new venture will be as much a spot for drinks as it will be for casual all-day dining.

The food menu, created by Hyde & Co executive chef Todd Francis, will will feature a selection of snacks, smaller dishes and Japanese style tapas.

There will also be freshly-made sushi and bento boxes on offer, which will be available to takeaway.

Speaking about the opening founder Nathan Lee said: “We’ve been really excited to join the amazing community at Wapping Wharf, so after several months of hard work it’s great to be opening our doors to the people of Bristol this weekend.

"We can’t wait to see people enjoying a cold beer and some Japanese style snacks on the terrace in the sunshine this Summer."
