Next James Bond odds: Who is going to replace Daniel Craig? From Tom Hardy to Cillian Murphy

Betting is off for who is predicted to be the next actor to take the coveted role of James Bond out of the hands of Daniel Craig, who bids farewell to the character with No Time to Die.

Tom Hardy is now predicted to be the actor most likely to step into the shoes of 007 after Craig steps down.

Although it has not been officially confirmed, The Vulcan Reporter claims Hardy has been locked into the role since auditioning back in June.

The site said that an official announcement confirming he will play 007 after No Time To Die was due to come in November.

James Norton

McMafia star James Norton was an early favourite to replace Craig, with an odds of 4/1 in recent reports from Coral.

Norton is also known for his roles in Happy Valley and War and Peace, and recently starred in Greta Gerwig's adaptation of Little Women.

He told Gentleman’s Journal: "Bond’s such an icon and means so much to so many, so there’s an inevitable amount of speculation. But that’s as much as it is — speculation. Very flattering, very humbling speculation."

Richard Madden

Bodyguard actor Richard Madden had odds of 8/1 to takeover the role of Bond.

Madden became well-known after his role as Robb Stark in Game of Thrones, and recently starred in Rocketman and 1917.

Madden's Bodyguard co-star, Keeley Hawes, told the Radio Times: "I said to Richard while we were shooting, 'This is like James Bond!'"

"I would love to see Richard playing James Bond; I would love that," she continued.

Jack Lowden

The Dunkirk star was pipped for the post with odds of 16/1.

Lowden has also starred in films such as Fighting With My Family and Mary Queen of Scots.

Sam Heughan

The Outlander star was in equal favour with Lowden with odds of 4/1.

As well as Outlander, Heughan is known for Bloodshot and The Spy Who Dumped Me.

Tom Hiddleston

The Night Manager star was placed in the running with odds of 6/1.

Hiddleston, who played Loki in Thor, has fervently shut down rumours and told Graham Norton in 2016: “No one has talked to me about it.”

Cillian Murphy

Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy had his odds slashed last year after Danny Boyle was announced as the Bond 25 director, with Moneypenny actress Naomie Harris throwing her support behind him.

She told the Daily Mail: “He’s a great actor. I can totally see him in that role.” However, it's looking less likely right now, with odds of 16/1.

No Time to Die is Craig’s final outing as the 007 agent after he claimed he would “rather slash his wrists” than make another film.

Craig, who previously starred in Casino Royale, Quantum Of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre, confirmed his return in the upcoming instalment last year after months of speculation.

Speaking on US chat show The Late Show, he told host Stephen Colbert: “I just want to go out on a high note, and I can’t wait.”
