New James Bond film to be delayed until November over coronavirus

The release of the new James Bond film , No Time To Die, has been delayed until November, it has been confirmed today.

The film, which was set to be released in April, was delayed by its producers following "careful consideration and thorough evaluation of the global theatrical marketplace".

According to the Daily Mirror , the delay is likely to be due to fears over coronavirus and its effect on the film marketplace.

A statement released today said: "MGM, Universal and Bond producers, Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, announced today that after careful consideration and thorough evaluation of the global theatrical marketplace, the release of No Time to Die will be postponed until November 2020.

"The film will be released in the U.K. on November 12, 2020 with worldwide release dates to follow, including the U.S. launch on November 25, 2020."

China's box office has plummeted $1.91billion (£1.49billion) in just two months due to the coronavirus, with many cinemas shutting down.

Theatres in Korea, Japan, Italy and France have also been closing.

No Time to Die has reportedly been rescheduled so the film doesn't lose money in areas hit by the virus.

The last four Daniel Craig Bond films have grossed $3.2billion (£2.49billion) in total.
