New Irish Aldi store reopens to customers after €3.8 million spent on revamp and refurbishments

Aldi reopened its Clonmel branch this week with several special offers in store for customers with discounts on household items such as steamers and pressure washers.

The retailer closed the branch a number of months ago to carry out refurbishments that cost an estimated €3.8 million. The prices of several items have been slashed to celebrate the return of shoppers, with pressure washers available at €85 and upright steamers costing just €35.

Store manager Richard Blake welcomed the reopening and said customers would benefit from the renovations.

“Our new and improved store is fantastic news for local shoppers! The spacious design means it is easier for Clonmel customers to pick up what they need, and our aim is to ensure the very best customer shopping experience,” Richard said.

Changes made to the store’s layout include a floor extension, wider aisles and several hi-tech features. There are now 133 car parking spaces available for Aldi shoppers and a bicycle rack stand.

The store is now powered exclusively by green electricity. Aldi has introduced several environmentally friendly policies in recent years, having committed to planting one million native woodland trees here by 2025.

The supermarket chain employs an estimated 4,650 people and 150 stores operate across Ireland.
