New in Latin Music: Cardi B. Goes Miami and Myke Towers Joins Forces with Ovy on the Drums

MIAMI - The new Latin music released this week has a soundtrack of pop, reggaeton, cumbia, corrido, and blasts from the past, with incredible covers. Last year, Reik announced a return to pop to celebrate their 20th anniversary. The Mexican trio has been keeping their promise, with their latest release, "Abril," being a feast for lovers of Latin pop.

Last October, Pedro Capó and Carín León participated in a session of the Latin Billboard Week about songwriting and performed an impromptu composition at the Faena Forum stage in Miami Beach. Those riffs became their new song, "Existo."

The 2024 Oscars saw Becky G performing "The Fire Inside," the nominated original song of Eva Longoria's movie "Flamin' Hot." Now, upcoming Puerto Rican star Cesca and fellow boricua Cary are presenting a new rendition just as powerful in Spanish.

Becky G herself has a new release: it's her newest song, "boomerang." The track offers a unique blend of fast-paced tropical rhythms with a hint of funk that transports you to a jungle-like atmosphere, promising listeners a diverse experience that embodies Becky G's signature sound and artistic versatility.

Joaquina, also a new talent and recent Latin Grammy winner from Venezuela, revealed her song in "Escapar de mí," her most personal composition, and part of her upcoming album.

"Cobijas Ajenas" is the title of a well known Espinoza Paz track. Alejandro Fernández and Alfredo Oliva took it and transformed it into one of the most rompevenas songs of all time. and a prelude to El Potrillo's upcoming album. Also in the realm of Mexican music, Joss Favela and Los Plebes del Rancho de Ariel Camacho, created magic with their song "Somos."
