The next stage of a housing masterplan in West Lothian has been given the green light.
Permission has been granted for 33 new homes in Winchburgh in the latest phase of work to build over 3800 properties, including 750 affordable options, with 450 of those for social rent.
The houses in this latest tranche will be built by Barratt Homes East Scotland as part of the Winchburgh Developments project.
The application was approved this week for the 33 houses with roads, parking, landscaping and associated works.
Winchburgh Developments say once the project is complete, the development will deliver at least 3800 new homes, improved transport links, employment opportunities, state-of-the-art schools and stunning new outdoor spaces to this historic village.
The first phase of the project was completed in 2018 which delivered 588 new homes, the first phase of the new town centre, and expanded local schools.
The second phase of the masterplan commenced in spring 2019, which will bring further major infrastructure investments including a new M9 motorway junction, 40 acres of business and retail space, new education facilities and local amenities including recreational green spaces, a marina, as well as a further 1000 homes.
