With Horizon Forbidden West being mere months away from launch, Guerrilla Games thought it best to release a trailer showing off the mechanical menaces we’ll be tangling with this time.
As with the first game, Horizon Forbidden West’s world is rife with robots that look quite a bit like dinosaurs. Or giant horrifying snakes straight out of a schlocky 1950s scifi films, depending on who you ask. In the new trailer, Machines of the Forbidden West, we see robotic pterodactyls, reptiles, and something that looks an awful lot like a giant armadillo. All of which get even more intimidating upon realizing that they can chase you underwater.

The trailer’s footage is of the PS5 version, though Guerrilla Games said it would look amazing on PS4 as well. Sure can’t argue with the evidence, that for sure!
Some screenshots released Thursday highlight some of the mechanized nasties in the game as well. That enormous cobra-like snake, in particular, looks like the stuff of nightmares. The studio sure came up with some wild designs this go-around.

Horizon Forbidden West comes out Feb. 18, 2022, for PS4 and PS5.
