New homes being built on site of former magistrates' court

Work is taking place to prepare the site of the former Sale Magistrates Court for the building of new homes. Residents living near the one-hectare site on Ashton Lane will notice increased activity as work continues on the site ahead of plans for the new development.

Trafford council granted planning permission for the building of 84 new homes last year – including 21 affordable properties made up of 13 flats for affordable rent, and eight houses for shared ownership.

The authority bought the site, on a key arterial route within the borough, from Homes England with a view to redevelopment and specifically the building of new residential property close to the town centre.
