Plans to build five houses in a wooded area on the edge of the borough’s green belt have resurfaced.
Initial plans for the development to the north of Templecombe Drive in Astley Bridge, which were pulled by developer NC Architecture earlier this year have been resubmitted.
The area of the site set to be developed in the revised plans is smaller than the previous application and there been more landscaping proposed, according to planning agent Lynsay Ewart of Paul Butler Associates.
She said: “The scheme has been revised in the relation to the comments we have received.”
While the site itself is not protected by green belt status, it is located near to an area considered to be of “special scientific interest”.
Further ecological surveys have now been conducted by the developer.
The revised application has been revealed just weeks after new plans for a further five homes on land less than 200 metres away were submitted by Developer SER Contractor Ltd.
Under these plans, a new road would be built linking the development to Wincanton Drive.
Ward councillor Paul Wild told The Bolton News that residents are “up in arms” about both of the proposed developments.
He has requested that councillors on the planning committee look at both applications and make the final decision.
