New hidden bar Abditory to open in Liverpool's magical 'Diagon Alley'

A new bar is set to open in Liverpool from city hospitality consultancy Lucky Penny.

Abditory will be based on Queen Avenue between Castle Street and Dale Street, which is known as the city’s very own ‘Diagon Alley’, after the magical shopping street in Harry Potter.

Owners say Abditory will offer a discreet meeting, eating and drinking spot for those looking for something different in the  city centre.

Steven Burgess, managing director of Lucky Penny said:  "This is a bar that we want to go to.

"We want it to be a place we are proud of and can bring our wives, girlfriends, partners and work mates of an evening and enjoy a decent drink without the hassle.

"Everything in Abditory will mean something to us, from the names of drinks to the soundtrack to the toasty fillings. We could not be more excited about having our own place in the city centre."

Lucky Penny are working with MgMa architects to create a classic contemporary space that will have floor to ceiling doors and outdoor seating in the summer months.

The menu will feature ‘evocative cocktails’ alongside German draft lager and wine.

While the food menu will include toasties, deli boards and nibbles.

Abditory is due to open October 2019.
