New Happy Sunday vintage boutique opens its doors in Nottingham city centre

A new vintage boutique has opened in the city centre. Happy Sunday has become the latest addition to Nottingham's thriving vintage scene after it opened its doors on Saturday, July 30.

The business is based on the ground floor of the Hopkinson Building, Station Street, and offers a range of vintage styles and kitsch mid-century homeware for all styles and budgets. The business is run by trained seamstress and avid collector, Bryony Selway.

The fashionista started her vintage selling career with a rail in Hopkinson, and soon became the manager. Bryony is well known for her colourful style and passion for sustainability, and she hopes to inspire others to break away from fast fashion and instead choose pre-loved pieces.

She said: "I put a lot of care into the repairing of my vintage collection to ensure a long and happy life. I often get asked about my clothes and style, so I really hope to inspire others to dress for joy while breaking down the hold that fast fashion has on our society.

"Nottingham is such an incredible city for independent businesses and vintage in particular. There is nowhere I’d rather start this exciting journey, especially inside Nottingham’s most iconic vintage and antiques centre.”

There is already a handful of specialist vintage dealers in The Hopkinson building, and Happy Sunday is just one of four new independent retails to open in July.

To celebrate its opening, shoppers visiting the store over its launch weekend on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31, July, were treated to exclusive discounts and freebies.
