Seven new countries have been added to the government's green list for international travel following a review of the traffic light system.
Transport secretary Grant Shapps has tonight announced the changes in a bid to 'continue to cautiously reopen a range of holiday destinations'.
The update includes Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Slovakia, Latvia, Romania and Norway moving to the green list from 4am on Sunday, August 8.
It means travellers arriving to England from these destinations will not need to quarantine - regardless of their vaccination status.
A statement from the Department for Transport said the update was due to the locations posing a low risk to UK public health.
Transport secretary Grant Shapps said: “We are committed to opening up international travel safely, taking advantage of the gains we’ve made through our successful vaccination programme, helping connect families, friends and businesses around the world.
“While we must continue to be cautious, today’s changes reopen a range of different holiday destinations across the globe, which is good news for both the sector and travelling public."

What rules apply to green list countries?
People travelling to green list countries will not need to isolate or quarantine on their return to the UK.
All passengers must take a Covid PCR test 72 hours before departure to the UK, and two days after their return to the UK.
However, some destinations have placed restrictions on UK travellers, including quarantine measures once they arrive at their destination.
Passengers are encouraged to check all requirements and FCDO travel advice before they book any foreign travel to any of the above destinations.
