King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center signed a contract on Monday, pledging to supply Yemeni hospitals with oxygen in cooperation with the World Health Organization, in context of continued Saudi humanitarian support for Yemenis.
The deal was signed by KSrelief Assistant Supervisor for Operations Ahmed al-Beez and WHO's Representative in Yemen Nevio Zagaria in the Saudi capital Riyadh.
The internationally-recognized Yemeni government headed by President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi continues to pour its efforts into normalizing the living situation and services in areas liberated from Iran-backed Houthi militias.
A supply of 11 oxygen plants for several Yemeni hospitals at a cost of $1,440,000 have been covered by the signed deal.
Director of the Department of Medical and Environmental Assistance at KSRelief Dr. Abdullah Al-Moallem confirmed in a press statement that five oxygen stations had been delivered. Remaining stations are being completed as part of the humanitarian and relief efforts of the King Salman Center to continue supporting the Yemeni people, he added.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Obaid bin Dagher and Socotra Governor Ramzi Mahrous on Monday laid the foundation stone for 13 projects funded by the World Bank's Emergency Response Grant through the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) at a cost of YR 350 million.
The projects are part of the government's ongoing efforts to push forward the development of the Socotra archipelago, in accordance with the directives of President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi.
Socotra and all the islands of the archipelago are of strategic and tourist importance, said Yemen’s Saba News Agency.
Bin Dagher has been leading government efforts on normalizing living standards in liberated areas run by legitimate authorities, such as Aden, Hadramout and Abyan—now moving to Socotra for the same endeavors, which include enhanced services and development projects.
