New gooey cookie delivery service launching in Liverpool

Lockdown has meant that we've all been forced to stay at home to stop the spread of coronavirus.

But it's also meant that we are trying to find ways of cheering ourselves up and a lot of those have come in the form of tasty pick-me-ups.

Now there's another reason to get excited as a new gooey cookie delivery service is launching in Liverpool next week.

Dumb Dough Liverpool launches on Monday, January 25 offering fresh, thick and gooey cookies delivered straight to your door.

The Bootle-based business is the brainchild of Liverpool John Moores graduate Aoibheann McCormack who has started this new venture after being made redundant last September.

Enter your postcode below to find out who's delivering food in your area:

She told the ECHO: "I've always had an interest in baking, I've always been around cooking because my dad used to work in restaurants.

"While I was writing my dissertation for my business and PR degree, I was doing a lot of stress baking. I have a sweet tooth and cookies are my favourite to bake and eat. But I've never found one that hit the spot. So I starting developing recipes for the ultimate cookie.

"It started out as a hobby as I was working full time in communications at Liverpool Airport, but when lockdown hit last March I was furloughed and then made redundant in September.

"I've always known I wanted to be my own boss somehow, so this gave me the push to do it. If there was ever a time to start my own business it was now.

"I took the plunge after also being egged on by my partner Matthew Daley, who has his own photography and videography business, Clearway Media, so he's also helped me with photographing the cookies."

Aoibheann, who moved to Liverpool from Omagh, Northern Ireland in 2015, added that her ultimate goal would be to have commercial premises.

"I'm running it out of my home in Bootle at the moment so we are delivering to most Liverpool postcodes. I fell in love with the city on the first day I moved here and knew that this was going to be my home forever."

Dumb Dough Liverpool offers a variety of different flavoured cookies including cookies 'n' creme, peanut butter, double chocolate and of course the classic chocolate chip.

Customers will be able to order sweet treats in cookie goodie boxes through the website from 8am on Monday mornings until midnight on Wednesday nights, with delivery taking place on Fridays from 10am to 6pm.

Boxes are priced at £10 each as a special introductory price until February 8 and you can choose from the Classic Cookie Box, the Cookies 'n' Creme Box and the Nutter Cookie Box with each box containing three cookies.

Dumb Dough Liverpool will deliver to all Liverpool postcodes except L37, L39 and L40 and are currently not delivering to Wirral.

The website does not launch until Monday when you can place your order then.
