New GMB host Gordon Smart makes cheeky dig at Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon after baby news

New Good Morning Britain host Gordon Smart made a cheeky dig at Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon following their baby news.

Loose Women favourite Stacey, 33, announced she was pregnant again yesterday, making it baby number three for the couple.

Stacey is already mum to sons Leighton and Zacharay from previous relationships while Joe, 40, is dad to son Harry, 15.

Together Stacey and Joe are parents to Rex, three and Rose, one, with Radio X star Gordon, 42, joking he has the "number for a good surgeon" ahead of the EastEnders star becoming a father for the fourth time.

Hinting the actor should consider getting the snip, Gordon advised it was: "Time for him to hang up his boots", leaving co-host Charlotte Hawkins, 47, open-mouthed

Entertainment reporter Scarlette Douglas swiftly wished Joe and Stacey well, saying: "From all of us here at GMB, we send them both our very best wishes, congratulations" as Gordon apologised for his comments while giggling.

Good Morning Britain welcomed the Scottish presenter for the first time this week as the TV show gets a shake-up.

Ahead of his debut, Gordon said: "I’m thrilled to be joining the amazing stable of talent, in front and behind the camera, on Good Morning Britain.

"So many of the issues facing the country right now are close to home and I’m relishing the chance to join the debate" .

The broadcaster will present the show on Thursday and Friday from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.

Regular presenters Susanna Reid, Ranvir Singh, Richard Madeley, Kate Garraway, Ben Shephard and Martin Lewis will all return in the New Year.

Gordon's co-star Charlotte looked like she'd managed to enjoy the festive season ahead of her return to work after she posted an adorable pic of her mini-me daughter Ella Rose on Instagram.

Standing in front of a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, the seven-year-old was the image of her mum, who stunned in a pink star-strewn dress.

Charlotte captioned the snap, in which Ella looked very festive sporting a sparkly sequinned dress and pink slippers: "Happy Christmas! Had such a lovely time with the family… I can’t believe it’s all over! Hope you had a magical and special one #christmas #happychristmas."

The presenter has a busy month coming up as she prepares to embark on a 26.2-mile challenge for Prostate Cancer UK.

Charlotte is running in remembrance of presenter Bill Turnbull, who sadly died at his Suffolk home on August 31, aged 66 this year, after being diagnosed with the disease in November 2017.
