New Glasgow seafood restaurant with beautiful outdoor terrace opens this week

Glasgow welcomes a new seafood restaurant this week, with Kelp set to open its doors to its very first customers on Tuesday.

Kelp finds home in former Evoo eatery on Cowcaddens Road, a short walk from Glasgow city centre.

Set to serve sustainable Scottish seafood, the new food venue also benefits from a beautiful outdoor terrace which is sure to be a big hit this summer.

Kelp will serve both lunch and dinner between 12noon and 9pm, Tuesday to Sunday and boasts a pre-theatre menu, with two courses for £20 or three courses for £25, alongside its small plate a la carte offering.

Food options include the likes of Isle of Skye landed langoustines; mussels with La Chouffe beer, smoked bacon, leek, sourdough and langoustines; Cumbrae oysters; and hand dived Barra scallop ceviche.

Meanwhile there's an extensive drinks menu, including cocktails, wines, champagne and prosecco.

Sharing a photo of their coley and crispy shredded ham hock dish on Instagram this morning (Monday), the Kelp team commented: "Opening day tomorrow! Who’s looking forward to sampling some of our small plates?"
