New Glasgow city centre basement wine bar and restaurant planned for former gym

Plans have been submitted for a new basement wine bar and restaurant in Glasgow city centre.

Council planners are currently reviewing proposals to transform a lower level office and gym space on Bothwell Street, previously occupied by Beat Theory Fitness.

The application for the premises at Abbey House, 12 Bothwell Street, which forms part of a listed building, has been submitted on behalf of Standard Real Estate Ltd.

It states a desired 'change of use from gym/office basement suites B1-B3, 12 Bothwell Street, to Class 3 licensed wine bar/restaurant.'

Plans included as part of the submission make reference to a 'proposed cocktail bar', while there will also be a private dining area forming part of the layout.

Details however remain limited at this stage and an operator for the bar restaurant hasn't been identified within the submission.
