New Glasgow brunch menu launches with a mac and cheese filled croissant burger

The weathermen might be predicting frost this weekend, but its not stopping one Glasgow eatery bringing summer to the city a little early.

So L.A. are launching a new Cali Brunch menu full of adventurous food combinations, designed to bring some California sunshine to the city centre.

The menu is stuffed full of rather exciting meals, many of which are not for the faint hearted. A croissant burger bursting with mac n cheese sounds absolutely magical, while Eggs Benedict topped with fried soft crab might be one of the fanciest and most exciting additions.

The menu’s French toast is topped with fruit and edible flowers, while freshly made buttermilk pancakes are also finished off with the floral snacks.

So L.A opened at the end of last year at its Mitchell Street residence just off Buchanan Street and has become a firm favourite for the food, cocktails and sunny vibes it offers.

The current menu has apparently been in development for weeks and will now become a permanent fixture. It will be available every Saturday from 12pm to 4pm and every Sunday from 11am until 4pm.

For those who appreciate a classic hipster avocado dish, probably best associated with the Bay Area or downtown LA, there’s even a crushed avocado, which is bursting with flavour with lime, chilli, coriander and pickled onion all precariously balanced on butter-griddled sourdough.

James Rusk, from So L.A. owners RUSK & RUSK, said: “So L.A. is all about channelling the awesome Californian vibe and mixing it up with a fair measure of cheeky Glasgow charm.

“With our Cali Brunch, we’ve created the most original, exciting and unapologetically weekend menu that Glasgow has ever seen. This is brunch for people who really seek out the best things in life and stretch the weekend to its limits.”
