New glamping village could arrive in West Lothian after plans submitted to transform farm

Plans have been unveiled to turn a West Lothian farm into a brand new 'glamping' site.

Applications have been submitted for the site surrounding Northfield Farm in Fauldhouse, which would see a holiday village erected for tourists.

Put forward by Hairy Haggis Glamping, the plans include the creation of six glamping pods, four seasonal bell tents and a shower block with additional parking.

The area will also require the installation of footpaths and extra drainage, with plans validated by West Lothian Council on March 22.

The new version of camping has become very popular in recent years, with many holiday-makers swapping sodden tents and roll-out mats for glamping pods and camp beds.

According to Hairy Haggis, the site, if approved, will also offer day trips and tours, as well as some stunning views of the countryside.

Day trips will also be offered by the group before the site opens and once lockdown rules allow it, reports the West Lothian Courier.

A statement from the company reads: “The Hairy Haggis Group is building a modern glamping and camping site located in the Bathgate area, situated in a beautiful Christmas tree plantation.”
