New glamping site in Wexford to offer the 'festival experience' this summer

With it looking less and less like major festivals will go ahead this summer, you might be sad to miss out on all the fun once more.

But fear not! Your prayers might have been answered.

Announced this week, Summer Glamp arrives to Wexford from July 2nd, and there's no fear of this guideline-compliant event getting cancelled.

Now, everyone knows that the best part of festivals is the campsite craic, which is why this could actually be the saviour of our summers. Provided it doesn't go all Fyre Festival on us, that is.

Catering to families midweek and groups of friends on the weekends, the Summer Glamp pop-up opens at Slaney Manor in Barntown, Co Wexford from July 2nd and will run for eight weeks.

Offering a 'luxury glamping' vibe, for those who don't like to get their wellies too dirty, it will feature outdoor bars serving up wines and beers, wood-fired hot tubs, food trucks, a pamper pod, plus an outdoor cinema.

Stay in a luxury bell tent on a three-night package, priced from a reasonable €399.95 midweek (Tuesday to Friday) and from €599.95 for weekends (Friday to Monday). Cheaper than any hotel you'll find for a staycation in the area right now, that's for sure.

Tents sleep from two people up to a maximum of six, and include double beds with foam mattress, bedside lockers, and storage for clothes. A selection of tents will also have full power, with charging facilities available elsewhere on the site.

There are 50 tents on site in total, meaning this events will cater to numbers in the hundreds rather than thousands. Which sounds a bit more manageable after five months of well, nothing much at all really.

Conor Glennon, founder of Summer Glamp said: “We’re looking forward to announcing more details of what visitors can expect to enjoy over the coming weeks, including entertainment acts.”

Let's just hope it doesn't rain, eh lads?
