New 'Ghostbusters' cast addresses haters head-on with 'girl power'

Aug. 25--Who you gonna call to make the new "Ghostbusters" movie? A whole lot of women, that's who. Actress Melissa McCarthy, one of members of the new, female-lead 'busting ensemble tweeted out an image of the many women who make up the cast and crew of this production. Fingers crossed this will end of long river of vitriol and slime the cast and crew have had to swim against.

The new paranormal fighting squad stars Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and McCarthy in the title roles. Unfortunately this production has been plagued with online outrage purely due to the fact that this team of new "Ghostbusters" is made up entirely of female actors.

The contempt even spilled over onto a hospital Facebook comment section after Tufts Medical Center posted pics of the cast suited up and visiting the floating hospital for children.

Truly this snap from set rounding up the women in the production with the sign "girl power" is letting the world know that the new 'busters can't hear the online haters over the blasting of their new proton packs. The caption in McCarthy's tweet is simple, with a shout-out to Ellen DeGeneres: "3 cheers to Ellen from all the remarkable women of #ghostbusters. When we stand together we are unstoppable!"
