New Ghost of Tsushima video unveils weapon upgrades

Ghost of Tsushima will be released on PS4 on July 17 (Picture: Sucker Punch)

We're finally getting to see more from Ghost of Tsushima, with a look at how weapon upgrades will work and a deep dive into the combat.

When it comes to weapon upgrades, a recent video shared by the official Sucker Punch Twitter account offers a look at how the process will work in the game.

In the video, we see the protagonist of Ghost of Tsushima, Jin Sakai, as he makes his way through a settlement.

We see Jin approach a bowyer to try and upgrade his current bow to a more powerful one, and this gives us a glimpse into how you'll be able to improve Jin's gear as you progress through the game.

You can check out the full video below.

In the upgrade menu, Jin can use certain materials like bamboo and other generic supplied collected from the environment or from enemies to have the Bowyer strengthen his half bow to a half-bow II.

As a side note, it appears that there's room for five upgrades of this particular weapon.

Upon upgrading a weapon, stats will be increased. In this case, after upgrading the bow it will get more speed, damage, stability and you can also upgrade the zoom on your bow.

Ghost of Tsushima is going to be released as a PlayStation 4 exclusive next month on July 17.

Earlier this week Ghost of Tsushima has officially gone gold, which means it is now in a state to be made into a disc and shipped out.
