New German-inspired taproom to open in Edinburgh with swinging chairs

A new German-inspired taproom is set to open in Edinburgh and it even has the cosiest-looking swinging chair.

The capital is set to move into level two on Monday, which will see bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants allowed to serve alcohol indoors for the first time in months.

With that in mind, you will want to check out the new kid on the block: Keller.

A "soon-to-be-open German and Scottish beer pub" nestled on Broughton Street Lane, this place should definitely make your hit-list of places to grab a drink when it opens.

Inspired by the German Bierkeller, Keller's is described as "warm, cosy, vibrant and real" and the new owners had hoped to create a spaces "where you immediately feel at home, and can easily lose yourself for a few hours".

They even have swinging chairs. (kellertaproom)

And they've certainly achieved that with a cosy interior that even features a swinging chair - it really does look like the perfect place to hide away with a pint or tipple of choice.

The new owners said: "We started this project at the beginning of 2020 (oh what a time), building with the collective knowledge of one proficient DIY enthusiast and have come out of it with a space we feel so proud of."

As well as beer, they offer cocktails and even have a brewery and distillery on site, with a selection of three of their very own gins to try.

Keller opens on May 19 and you can book a table via their website here.
